Another find!

Lookie how cool this is! I found these reusable produce bags on Green & Clean Mom. Although, I have converted the family over to reusable grocery bags, I hadn't figured out what to do about the plastic produce bags, but knew there was a way. I'm sure these are easy to make if one knows their way with a sewing machine, but how cute is that design!

Euro Sponge

For over a year, I've been meaning/hoping/wanting to transition to cloth napkins and find an alternative to paper towels, but time has not been on my side and I've been unable to make my own cloth napkins. We ran out of paper towels almost a month ago and I haven't bought any since! Been using handtowels (you can even ask Tanya).

But, look at what I found out about today on GreenFeet.

These are handy, dandy Natural Euro Sponge Cloths. One can apparently use them over and over again to clean, wipe, and dry kitchen and bath surfaces. The best part? I'm a DIVA and I now have a CUP!

If you're one of my male readers (which I have very few of), no need to read on. I will be discussing my Aunt Flo. You know, the monthly visitor us women are 'blessed' with each month.

I've been eyeing the Diva Cup for months now, and finally have made the decision to throw out the Tampax since I recently discovered they are made by the evil Pain for Profit company, Proctor & Gamble.

So, with my prima on board, we ordered us our Diva cups today and are pleased we will be contributing no waste when the annoying Auntie pays us her monthly visit.

Kombucha

After seeing my mom make Kombucha for many years, I decided, after noticing the hefty price of bottled storebought Kombucha, that I would make my own. So, I picked up a "baby" from my good friend, Stephana, the chapter leader of Holistic Moms Network at our last meeting, and have begun the fermentation process, by adding green tea and raw sugar to the kombucha culture, which is a symbiotic probiotic colony of yeast and bacteria.

I know, it sounds totally icky, but it's the friendly type. So hopefully, in about 7-10 days, I will have the wonder beverage resulting in dozens of elements, many of which are known to promote healing for a variety of conditions--removing toxins, improving circulation, relieving a myriad of health ailments, as well as help prevent major health problems from developing. It's even been said to stop severe menstrual cramps (yeah!!). Since Kombucha reproduces itself, and if I maintain this culture correctly, I could have a lifetime supply.
