When I mentioned trying square foot gardening, the hubby looked at me sideways and as if I had insulted him. He said if we're going to garden, THIS is the way he wants to do it from now on. Just like his dad (who still gardens on this scale). Soil is ready and rows are dug. We're ready to go now. Had to pull out the wide angle lens and at 16mm to get this all in.
As my friend Sharon says, we're not gardening. We're FARMING.
Not quite, but pretty close.

Yep,. Definitely a farm.
Good gravy, that's like gardening on steroids.
Dibs on extra tomatoes :)
You should be able to feed a small country at that rate...lol!
We've got squares, you've got rows...I'm sure it all grows! :) You will have to give away a ton of food!!!
Okay, my post came up 5 times, so I deleted them....I kept clicking and nothing was happening, then it all happened at once! LOL
Give away? I'm thinking we just may open up the gates and have a NW Austin Farmer's Market here. MAke a little moolah. Maybe our fig tree will produce tons again this year.
Kidding.
Actually, part of it was sectioned off to be a Sunflower House for the kiddies, but now Mike is saying that he wants to plant watermelons there, so the Sunflower House will be planted elsewhere in the yard.
I think he's just looking for an excuse to use his new toy (aka tiller).
This is so impressive! The kids will have a BLAST! Remember, the kids have families that may like a fig or watermelon ;)
The food bank would probably thank you, too!
Wow! I haven't been in the backyard to see this yet, it is impressive! The kids will be so excited to watch it grow.
When you told me you were gardening, I assumed pulling a weed here or there. Tell DH to come over here and help us too!
He has a heavy duty tiller now and is happy to work for beer.
hehe...
