No Child Left Inside Act

VERY exciting to hear this Act was passed last week by The US House of Reps!

When I was teaching 1st grade, I would devote a large amount of time to the Earth Day unit I created. At my school, I was one of the few teachers (if not the only one) that even did such a unit. It wasn't in our TEKS or in our Scope and Sequence for the district, so I assume that's why teachers didn't have this particular focus in their lesson plans? We were always crunched for time, but I did it, and loved it. Several of my grade team members began doing Earth Day units soon after. Why on earth wouldn't we want to educate our young children--the future generation, about enviromental education?
