Happy 45th

After years of preparing homemade meals for us, and considering you have temporarily sacrificed your own kitchen (and home) for my business, you more than deserved this lovely set of All Clad.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Yvonne's Birthday and Housewarming

Last night we enjoyed an evening of good food, drinks, and art to honor my cousin Yvonne's birthday, which also doubled as a housewarming party. She purchased her first home a few months ago, gutted it, and transformed it into a beautiful, inviting, and zen-like space. I wish I had before pictures of the house when she bought it. The labor and work that went into this place is unbelievable (there were many tears shed as well).
But, it is now a home.

Congratulations!

Mia turns Three!

This weekend, we joined Mia's birthday celebration. Her mama put together a huge pachanga (spanish for birthday bash) at Acrotex Gym. This venue was a GREAT idea. I don't think I've seen this many children at a birthday party since living on the border. The kiddies had a blast playing on all the equipment and I think the parents were equally as excited!

Happy Happy Birthday Mia.
We love you very much.

And all these cupcakes, her mama made! I don't think I've seen so many cupcakes before and they were delish!

At Least He Got Birthday Beer

My honey's birthday was yesterday. The plan was to dress up, go out to eat (sans toddler), just us two, and come home and enjoy each others company. By the end of the workday, we ended up ditching the dressing up and eating out part, so Mike brought take out and we relaxed at home.

A few years ago, I forgot my husband's 39th birthday. Yes, I earned the Bad Wife Award that year. I made up for it on his 40th by throwing him a HUGE Casino surprise party and his peeps from Louisiana flew out for it. That was the only time I've seen Mike cry.

Now I find myself almost earning the Bad Wife Award again. I don't have any photos to commemorate this year's birthday. The good thing is Mike doesn't get his feathers ruffled like I would. But still. The man deserved a cake on his 44th birthday.

Things have been so busy on both our ends. He's working so hard to keep his new business running strong and steady, and I'm busy getting my in home childcare program licensed through the state. Every evening is filled with eating, cleaning up the kitchen, doing paperwork, brainstorming for an official name for my program (which I'm still stumped on), and burying my nose into one of the many early childhood books I'm reading. Looking forward to our Thanksgiving break next week and Jay will be flying in!

But how cool is this?
My friend Tanya walked in yesterday morning with this 6 pack of beer, and my initial thoughts were, I don't need a drink THAT bad at 9:00 am! She then tells me that is not for me.
It's Mike's Birthday Beer!

Ethan Turns 3!

My family always enjoys spending time with the Osborns, and on Saturday, we helped Ethan celebrate his 3rd birthday at Peter Pan Mini Golf in S. Austin. This isn't your typical Putt-Putt. It's small and old, has chipped, creepy cement characters, which many have been there over 50 years. This was Sophia's first time to play mini golf. And best of all, it's BYOB at Peter Pan. All the daddies looked happy too. This place is definitely 'Austin'.

What a GREAT party!
And Happy Birthday Ethan.

There are a few more photos on my Flickr for those Osborns who are interested.

Birthday Girl ~ BSM

My camera just loves this little Lady. This is Anika during her 2nd birthday celebration.
Everytime I see her, I fall in love all over again. She, and her parents, are simply beautiful people.

The Product of his Heart and Hands

Just like his birthday invites, I love that Domi made his Thank You cards for those who came to his 16th birthday celebration.
He's definitely got the concept of being a creator rather than a consumer.

Serena was born of the 4th of July and we went over to help her and Alana celebrate their birthdays. This was the best part of our weekend. She resembles so much of my mom with her red hair and brown eyes.

I couldn't get enough of her hair. Isn't it beautiful?
Curly, thick, vibrant, red hair.

Thursday, June 27th, 1974

For the first time in YEARS, I had a birthday celebration thrown for me in honor of my special day. My pachanga was Tanya's idea (I puffy heart her!) and Yvonne helped her organize it. Several of my dearest friends joined me in an ambiant dinner at Cool River, followed by some groovin' on their dance floor. It was a nice change of pace and I was giddy at seeing my friends dolled up in makeup and heels. We're usually slumping kids around with stains on our frumpy clothes. Last night, I felt surrounded by much happiness and love. Have I mentioned before I have THE MOST amazing women as friends?

¡Feliz CumpleaƱos!

On Sunday, my entire brood headed over to my dear friend Bonnie's house, for a small gathering in honor of her birthday. Tanya was responsible for this fun and relaxed family shin-dig and she made this delish strawberry shortcake. The kiddies decided to have impromtu mud and water play. And as usual, the Mamarazza was present, in full force, armed with their digiSLRs. For some amazing shots, hop on over to Bonnie's Blog.

Happy Birthday Bonnie!

This is my favorite shot. Something about it just makes me smile. I think it embraces childhood ever so perfectly.
